Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on Shophilist's website and our apps for iPhone and Android any other devices and platforms.

Information we collect

When creating an account, you will be asked to enter login via Google Sign-in. We collect your email address and some personal information which are provided by Google during the account creation and sign in process. Email are only used to share your list with others, responding to email that you initiate and notifications that you request. We do not send promotional emails.

We store information about:

  • All the content of your list
  • Who you're sharing your list with
  • Your email address

We also collect anonymous statistics about how you use application or website to help us improve the application.

Technical basics

If you enable notifications, we must store a token to send them. We never use notifications for marketing.

We use cookies on the site and similar tokens in the app to keep you logged in.

Google accounts

We store a read-only Google login token to look up your Google account email and avatar and your name. Shophilist cannot log in to your Google account or read your email or use any other Google services. You can revoke access to your Google account at any time.

Analytics

Shophilist's app collects aggregate, anonymous statistics, such as the percentage of users who use particular features, to improve the app.

We use Google Analytics for Firebase service to know about the usage of Shophilist's app and website. We also have defined and set so called user properties for each logged in user to describe segments of our user base, such as language and geographic location.

Additionally we collect Advertising Identifier (IDFA) of your device.

In case of error or crash we automatically send anonymous error and crashlogs to Bugsnag service in order to improve and keep track of the status of Shophilist's app.

You may opt-out of statistics and analytics collection from the Shophilist's app settings.

Information usage

We use the information we collect to operate and improve our website, apps, and customer support.

We do not share personal information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to accomplish Shophilist’s functionality.

We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requirements; to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or abuse, violations of our policies; or to protect our rights and property.

In the future, we may sell to, buy, merge with, or partner with other businesses. In such transactions, user information may be among the transferred assets.

Security

We implement a variety of security measures to help keep your information secure. For instance, all communication with the app and website requires HTTPS with certificate pinning.

Accessing, changing, or deleting your information

You may access or change your information or delete your account from the Shophilist iOS app or Android app.

Deleted information may be kept in backups for up to 30 days. Backups are stored in Google's servers and are only accessed if needed to disaster recovery.

Information for European Union Customers

By using Shophilist and providing your information, you authorize us to collect, use, and store your information outside of the European Union.

International Transfers of Information

Information may be processed, stored, and used outside of the country in which you are located. Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may be applicable to your data depending on where it is processed, stored, or used.
